Another Year Older, Another Year Grateful

Another Year Older, Another Year Grateful

Well, here’s to another year older. I’ve only been 46 for about five minutes, but I can already say this—turning another year older hasn’t been as bad as I once thought it was.

Have I accomplished everything I hoped I would by now? Nope.

Will I ever accomplish all of those things? Who knows?

But what I do know is this: I am blessed.

This life of mine—as hectic, full, and ever-changing as it may be—is constantly teaching me something new with each passing day. Some lessons come quietly, others come through seasons of stretching, waiting, and trusting. Yet each one has shaped me into who I am becoming.

Scripture reminds us,

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” — Proverbs 19:21

You’d think I would know this by now, but I’m constantly being reminded that God’s timing rarely matches my own—but His timing is always perfect. Dreams don’t always unfold the way we imagine, and success doesn’t always come wrapped in quick wins or perfect timelines. Sometimes success looks like obedience. Sometimes it looks like perseverance. And sometimes it looks like choosing faith even when the outcome isn’t shaping up to how we think it should or is still unknown.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11

I couldn’t feel more blessed than I do right now. Not because everything is finished or flawless, but because God has been faithful in every step, every lesson, and every season of this life

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” — Proverbs 16:3

As I step into this new year of life, I’m choosing gratitude over pressure, faith over fear, and obedience over timelines. I am deeply thankful for this life God has given me—and for the opportunity to build something that reflects His light, His purpose, and His goodness.

Here’s to another year.

Here’s to growth.

And here’s to continuing to shine His light—one step and one prayer at a time.
